The team has been busy making slight adjustments to Zappy Feet, resting, and recuperating as we get ready to head to PNW District Championships in Portland, OR over Spring Break. As a parent, I'm just filling in temporarily on the updates here!
What's happened since competition started:
PNW District Glacier Peak Event March 1 to March 3, 2024
Our robot and team performed very well in this week one event.
We played 12 qualification matches, and were ranked third at the end of all matches (out of 34 teams)
We were the captain of Alliance 2 - selecting 2522 Royals and 4915 Spartronics as our alliance partners. Our alliance went up against the top 2 teams and their partner to come in second overall after a tiebreaker in the finals.
We finished as Finalists at Glacier Peak!

PNW District Bonney Lake Event March 15 to March 17, 2024
We made some slight adjustments to Zappy Feet during the time since the Glacier Peak Event, including dialing in the autonomous behavior, but no major robot design changes.
We were ranked first through many qualification matches and were out ranked towards the end, moving to second place (out of 35 teams)
We were the captain of Alliance 2 - selecting 3663 CPR and 8896 Wolf Tech as our partners. Our alliance went up against tough teams in the finals, and came in second overall.
We finished as Finalists at Bonney Lake! You can see the results here.
Our team won the Autonomous Award! This award celebrates the team that has demonstrated consistent, reliable, high-performance robot operation during autonomously managed actions. Evaluation is based on the robot’s ability to sense its surroundings, position itself or onboard mechanisms appropriately, and execute tasks.
